To many in Anne Arundel County, lacrosse is a way of life, some have spent a large portion of there life devoted to the game. The Severn School's new varsity men's head lacrosse coach, Brian Wood, just so happens to be one of those people. Having been involved in lacrosse in Anne Arundel county since 1978, he has accrued numerous awards during his playing career, including three time HS All-American, four time HS All Anne Arundel County, four time Collegiate All America, three time Collegiate National Champions, and he was named to the All Johns Hopkins Team in 1987 upon graduation from the University. Coach Wood also had the honor to represent the USA in the World Championships in 1986.
Once his playing career came to an end, Coach Wood started coaching with the Annapolis Youth Lacrosse Association, where he is on the board of directors. Now preparing to start his first season as head coach of The Severn School's boys lacrosse team, Coach Wood's experience and leadership will no doubt help the Admirals reach new heights. API would like wish Coach Wood and the entire Severn School athletic program luck in the upcoming season.
