Yoga creates balance: flexibility and stability, mind and body, awareness and breath. While the practice of yoga may look simple, moving in and out of poses works muscles isometrically, concentrically and eccentrically, creating a surprisingly challenging workout.
Yoga teaches: perfect posture, core activation, and calm in an uncomfortable situation. Learning how to stand properly improves digestion and circulation. Core stability prevents injuries and improves athletic performance. Staying calm during stressful situations helps with better decision-making and even disease prevention.
Yoga heals: stress-related illnesses, weight issues, menopausal symptoms. Breathing through movements and performing inverted poses reduces stress and weight by lowering coritsol levels and awakening the parasympathetic nervous system. Holding poses keeps one's focus in the present moment, creating a positive outlook on the journey rather than obsessive focus on the outcome.
Yoga is the union between body, mind and spirit. It moves the body, quiets the mind and lifts the spirit.
