Beginning in 2011, API will utilize the NSCA Performance Index for to track each athlete's progress and athletic performance. The NSCA index is based on a decathlon-type scoring system in which athletes receive points based on performance. The higher they jump, the more points they receive. The faster they run, the more points they receive.
The index is scored on a 0 - 1,000 point system for each test. The index has been standardized so that a score of 500 is considered a solid, NCAA Division I performance standard that is not easy to achieve.
This Record Board will be formed as API athletes are evaluated on a monthly basis. Stay tuned for the first round of Record Board updates!
