Stephen earned his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Virginia Tech where he served as a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Stephen has over 15 years experience working with athletes of all ages and sports. Stephen is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise and a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor through the Titleist Performance Institute. Before founding API in 2004, Stephen served as the Fitness Director and Personal Training Coordinator at the Skyline Sport & Health Club (Falls Church, VA) and the Annapolis Athletic Club (Annapolis, MD).

keith-leaderKeith Matney, Consultant

Keith has over 25 years experience in successfully directing new business start-ups and launching new product lines for existing companies. During his career, Keith has been a small business owner/operator as well as a National Sales & Training Manager and North American Marketing Manager for two multi-national construction product manufacturing companies. Keith is a Certified Sports Arena Operator with US Indoor Sports Association and has over 5 years experience as an Operations Director for a multi-sport indoor facility. He specializes in facility conversions and has successfully converted an ice rink arena and an indoor tennis facility to multi-sport turf and flex court facilities.

Sean DoyleSean Doyle, Director of Sports Performance

Sean earned his Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Athletic Coaching, as well as his Masters Degree in Applied Health Physiology with a focus in Strength Training and Conditioning from Salisbury University. It is there where he developed a love and passion for sports performance as a volunteer assistant coach for Salisbury University’s Sports Performance Program. Sean is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA as well as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach for USA Weightlifting. Before API, he served as Director of Sports Performance for Perfect Performance (Tyson’s Corner, VA) and The Arena Sports Factory (Bel Air, MD) training elite collegiate and professional athletes as well as developing middle and high school athletes.

Tayler StilesTayler Stiles, Director of Operations

Tayler Stiles joined the API team in 2018 as Operations Manager. In 2019, he became Director of Operations. In this role, he focuses on the development and smooth functioning of our Customer Service and Operations teams along with facilities management and maintenance. In college, Tayler was a distinguished baseball player for the University of MD Terps. Tayler is also a coach in the API Baseball program for the 14U and 13U teams.
