The API coaching staff has many years of experience in sports performance training with many of the same credentials required by collegiate athletic programs and professional sports organizations including a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) - the "Gold Standard" in the sports performance training industry.

Sean Doyle, Director of Sports Performance and Coach

Sean earned his Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Athletic Coaching, as well as his Masters Degree in Applied Health Physiology with a focus in Strength Training and Conditioning from Salisbury University. It is there where he developed a love and passion for sports performance as a volunteer assistant coach for Salisbury University’s Sports Performance Program. Sean is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA as well as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach for USA Weightlifting. Before API, he served as Director of Sports Performance for Perfect Performance (Tyson’s Corner, VA) and The Arena Sports Factory (Bel Air, MD) training elite collegiate and professional athletes as well as developing middle and high school athletes.. Bernard Williams, Sports Performance Coach

Bernard earned his Associate's Degree in Sports Management from Barton County Community College, as well as his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Florida. As an athlete, Bernard is an Olympic gold medalist for the 4x100m relay in 2000, an Olympic silver medalist in the 200m in 2004, World Champion in the 4x100m relay in 2003, World Championships silver medalist for the 100m in 2001, as well as NCAA Champion in the 100m and 4x100m relay in 2000. As a coach, Bernard has trained district champions in the 100m and Junior Olympic National Competitors, as well as hosting track and field camps in the state of Florida. Email Bernard

Danny Locklear, Sports Performance Coach and Lacrosse Performance Coordinator

Danny Locklear earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Frostburg State University and his Master’s degree in Exercise Science & Coaching from Concordia University Irvine. Danny is a Certified Sports Performance Coach through USAW and is actively pursuing his certification as Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Danny is passionate about sports performance training and having the opportunity to work with talented and dedicated athletes every day.

Nick Knappen, Sports Performance Coach

With a “practice what you preach” mentality, Coach Nick provides scientific and calculated speed and strength programs to ensure the best possible result for each individual athlete. Coach Nick graduated with a degree in exercise science from Salisbury University and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Nick’s goal is to challenge each athlete physically and mentally so that each individual becomes a better athlete after each training.
